PULSE 300: Setting a standard of excellence for DC commercial door operators
What sets the PULSE 300 commercial door operator apart? It delivers the perfect balance of power, intelligence, efficiency, and safety.
- Powered by a powerful 90V direct drive DC motor — The high‑torque 90V motor is built for smooth, reliable operation with fewer moving parts, reducing maintenance.
- Advanced speed control — The PULSE 300 features programmable speed control. It can achieve opening speeds up to 24 inches per second, optimizing workflow.
- Integrated 24V battery backup — A powerful standard 24V system keeps your door moving during power interruptions.
- Soft start / soft stop functionality — Programmable slow‑speed ramp‑up and ramp‑down distances allow for smooth acceleration and deceleration, protecting the door system and minimizing wear and tear.
- Intelligent force monitoring — The PULSE 300 features enhanced safety with force monitoring. Should the door hit an obstruction or become jammed, the system will sense the change in force and stop the opening operation or reverse the closing operation to avoid further damage.

The all-new PULSE chain hoist now available
The PULSE chain hoist enhances reliability by enabling manual operation during extended power outages. Simple to use, it engages with a red cord and disengages with a green cord. An interlock switch ensures power to the operator is disconnected when the chain hoist is engaged.
This helps prevent downtime, protects operations, and provides peace of mind for businesses that require uninterrupted performance.
The PULSE chain hoist is simple, intuitive and ready when needed, giving users confidence that their doors will remain functional in any situation.
The PULSE chain hoist is available as an additional option for PULSE 200, PULSE 300, PULSE 400BD, and PULSE 400HD commercial models.

90V or 180V direct-drive DC motors: the better choice for your commercial door operator
There are many advantages to choosing a DC operator for commercial and industrial applications. Improved strength, speed control, efficiency, and longevity are just a few of the benefits worth considering.
Most DC door operators on the market today rely on 24V motors. While adequate for light-duty use, they often fall short in demanding environments where performance, reliability and efficiency are essential.
90V and 180V DC motors are a major upgrade
This is why PULSE operators from iControls are built with either a robust 90V (up to 1 HP) or
180V DC motor (up to 3 HP), offering a clear advantage in commercial settings.
Unlike many competing operators, PULSE motors are horsepower-rated, not
“horsepower equivalent”. When you choose PULSE, you can be confident you’re
getting the power that’s promised.
With 24V motors, achieving higher speed means sacrificing torque. And when
higher torque is required, top speeds become limited. With PULSE motors, there’s
no need to compromise, they deliver both high torque and high speed.
Built for performance and dependability Choosing a PULSE operator means investing in a system engineered for strength and durability. The advantages of direct-drive 90V or 180V DC motors are clear. PULSE operators are the smarter choice for those who value exceptional performance and long-term dependability.

Added peace of mind with the PULSE commercial chain hoist
When it comes to overhead commercial door operators, reliability is everything. Businesses and facilities depend on smooth uninterrupted performance even when the unexpected occurs. That is why the PULSE Chain Hoist option is such a valuable addition to the PULSE line of commercial door openers.
Most PULSE operators feature a standard integrated battery backup system that ensures operation during power interruptions. The optional PULSE Chain Hoist, available for the 200 and 300 Series, provides an extra layer of security allowing doors to be operated manually during extended power outages. The addition of a chain hoist also complies with architect specifications that do not account for battery backup.
The PULSE Chain Hoist is simple, intuitive and ready when needed, giving users confidence that their doors will remain functional in any situation.
Engaging and disengaging the chain hoist is straightforward, requiring only a quick pull of either of the two colour-coded cords. Pulling the red cord disengages the PULSE operator and activates the chain hoist. Pulling the red cord also disconnects power to the PULSE operator as an added safeguard should power return while the chain hoist is being used. Pulling the green cord re-engages the PULSE operator allowing for a resumption of normal operation.
The PULSE Chain Hoist is more than a convenience; it’s a safeguard that protects your facility’s commercial operations, eliminates downtime and ensures peace of mind.

Balance matters: extend door life with iControls built-in diagnostic tool
Sectional and rolling steel doors commonly use torsion springs to counterbalance the door’s weight. Over time, and with repeated use, the springs can relax and cause a door to become unbalanced. This imbalance may strain components, cause door drift and even lead to premature torsion spring failure.
PULSE operators (Series 100, 200 and 300) include a diagnostic feature to detect door imbalance. The Automatic Balance Check, accessible from the control panel menu, runs the door through a full cycle and displays the force required to open versus close the door.
A difference in these figures indicates the degree of imbalance. Adjusting the spring tension based on these results to get these numbers as close as possible will help restore proper balance without removing the operator or relying on guesswork. A balanced door will extend spring life and improve battery backup performance.

Experience tailored performance with advanced door type selection
Both sectional and rolling steel doors can be excellent options for your facility. However, when selecting a commercial door operator, it's important to note that the different door types have distinctly different needs.
That’s where PULSE from iControls® comes in.
The PULSE 200 Series and PULSE 300 Series Direct Drive DC door operators feature a “Door Type” selection upon startup. This feature effortlessly optimizes the operator based on your choice between ‘Sectional’ and ‘Rolling Steel’ and means you need only stock one operator for either installation.
With software that tailors operation to your specific door, you’ll gain peace of mind knowing your system is running efficiently. Thanks to this, you will gain the advantage of reduced wear and tear, significantly increasing the longevity of both your door and your PULSE operator.
