Added peace of mind with the PULSE commercial chain hoist
When it comes to overhead commercial door operators, reliability is everything. Businesses and facilities depend on smooth uninterrupted performance even when the unexpected occurs. That is why the PULSE Chain Hoist option is such a valuable addition to the PULSE line of commercial door openers.
Most PULSE operators feature a standard integrated battery backup system that ensures operation during power interruptions. The optional PULSE Chain Hoist, available for the 200 and 300 Series, provides an extra layer of security allowing doors to be operated manually during extended power outages. The addition of a chain hoist also complies with architect specifications that do not account for battery backup.
The PULSE Chain Hoist is simple, intuitive and ready when needed, giving users confidence that their doors will remain functional in any situation.
Engaging and disengaging the chain hoist is straightforward, requiring only a quick pull of either of the two colour-coded cords. Pulling the red cord disengages the PULSE operator and activates the chain hoist. Pulling the red cord also disconnects power to the PULSE operator as an added safeguard should power return while the chain hoist is being used. Pulling the green cord re-engages the PULSE operator allowing for a resumption of normal operation.
The PULSE Chain Hoist is more than a convenience; it’s a safeguard that protects your facility’s commercial operations, eliminates downtime and ensures peace of mind.

Balance matters: extend door life with iControls built-in diagnostic tool
Sectional and rolling steel doors commonly use torsion springs to counterbalance the door’s weight. Over time, and with repeated use, the springs can relax and cause a door to become unbalanced. This imbalance may strain components, cause door drift and even lead to premature torsion spring failure.
PULSE operators (Series 100, 200 and 300) include a diagnostic feature to detect door imbalance. The Automatic Balance Check, accessible from the control panel menu, runs the door through a full cycle and displays the force required to open versus close the door.
A difference in these figures indicates the degree of imbalance. Adjusting the spring tension based on these results to get these numbers as close as possible will help restore proper balance without removing the operator or relying on guesswork. A balanced door will extend spring life and improve battery backup performance.

Experience tailored performance with advanced door type selection
Both sectional and rolling steel doors can be excellent options for your facility. However, when selecting a commercial door operator, it's important to note that the different door types have distinctly different needs.
That’s where PULSE from iControls® comes in.
The PULSE 200 Series and PULSE 300 Series Direct Drive DC door operators feature a “Door Type” selection upon startup. This feature effortlessly optimizes the operator based on your choice between ‘Sectional’ and ‘Rolling Steel’ and means you need only stock one operator for either installation.
With software that tailors operation to your specific door, you’ll gain peace of mind knowing your system is running efficiently. Thanks to this, you will gain the advantage of reduced wear and tear, significantly increasing the longevity of both your door and your PULSE operator.
